I met a man last night

By the name of Jay

He lost his wife two years ago today

Oh my Ginnie-Mae

Oh my Ginnie-Mae

We had a sip of beer

And talked about the years gone by

Seems old Jay has lived

Long enough to cry

Stuck in this old town now for 30 years

You punch out at five and have another beer

Oh my Ginnie-Mae

I miss you my Ginnie-Mae

Old Jay he said

You got to listen to me

I’ve been living this life

For sixty-three years

I had a love that passed me by

And now it’s my tears

That won’t lie

Oh my Ginnie-Mae

I miss you my Ginnie-Mae

Old Jay Said

If you find your love today

You have to hold on

To let it pass away

And if it’s love

When it’s gone

You know it’s here to stay

You know it’s here to stay

Oh my Ginnie-Mae

I miss you my Ginnie-Mae
